Worklife: V8 CAD project
Just about to finish another CAD project at uni and have had to produce a motion study of the parts i`ve built so i thought i`d show it off abit! It`s a V8 engine block, crank and piston assemblys.
The quality isn`t the best as its the first draft and i`m off into uni again now to finish it up and hopefully make it more clear.

Time for an injection of BADICAL
I can't remember where I found these pictures. Somewhere random on my internet travels I imagine. I forgot I had them and stumbled across them in one of my JZ folders while looking for something else. The original images were dark and not too clear. I've juiced them up and given them the Sweet Oblivion BADICAL seal of approval.

Today's goodies
JZX73 engine mounts. Fuck yeah!I only have one seat belt in the car. It's on the passenger side and I have a bucket in the drivers so.. I need a harness. So bought this ridonkulous one.
The lairy pink actually goes well with my brown bucket seat and the labels are just funny. They must be worth at least another 5 bhp on there own haha.I'm still front sump and manual JZ bellhousing hunting.. Got a couple of leads. Wish me luck!

Road trippin..
Two blokes, one van, and bits of old Toyota to collect.
First stop, Extreme Performance in Leicester run by a fella called Keron.
With a steady stream of turbo swaps on mkIV Supras, he's tripping over unwanted 2JZGE engines. I took one off his hands, with an ecu and ancilleries. Annoyingly there had been some confusion in communication as it was not a front sump version that I really wanted. Some bartering on the price compensated for this and I was happy again. The engine came from a manual car too so had a manual ecu which was a bit of a bonus. With some jigging and a crane we got it in the back of Little Toe..
Just how we were gonna get it out at the other end? Well.. we'll worry bout that later haha.
Next stop was for the W58 gearbox supplied by a very helpful and thoroughly recommended Steve at Silverline Racing in Woverhampton.
Primarily a mkIII Supra tuner, he did have a nice range of cars he was working on. We got a quick tour and he showed off some of the in-house custom fabrication work he does.
His unit was cool and we were suitably impressed. Check out Matt's impressed face..
With the van getting heavier and space running out we had one stop left. The night before I'd found some scruffy but nicely cheap 17x9 Torques on Driftworks. I knew it was gonna be a squeeze but as we were out in the van I figured, what the hell! May as well get the lot in one hit! We arrived at Tanner's house greeted by a mega helpful and friendly Lucy. She sorted us out with the wheels and a couple of spare tyres too.
Counting hurts! haha. I'm so jealous of the cool work space they have for cars at their house.. and that they live so stupidly close to Santa pod!
We passed this on the way back. The coolest thing we saw on our travels..
Back at mine we got unloaded. With two of my house mates helping the four of us got the engine out of the van. It actually wasn't that heavy and hard to to move at all! Phew!
Not a bad haul me thinks.
Tongy, one of my housemates, got excited about the mighty JZ goodness haha.
Couldn't help doing a test fit of the wheels. So snug at the back! Love it! My offset guesstimation payed off. As predicted there are problems at the front clearing the coilovers but, no worries as there are spacers already on their way.
Big thanks to home slice Matt for sorting and driving the van on our epic collectinatin4000 road trip of JZ goodness.

S.O. Approved: DVDs
Two DVDs out now. Both worth your hard earned pennies.
First up, Touge Heroes Volume 1. The first of what promises to be a very exciting series. Redefining UK style and attitude towards driving and modifying cars. The style of filming, editing and music choices are all great and make for a tasty treat for the eyes and ears. Favourite moments for me are the opening Skyline sequence and the drifting at the top secret touge location.
Next is the latest Drift Alliance film, Stay Hungry. If you watch any skate videos you'll like and recognise the style and format of this film straight away. Each DA driver gets their own chapter, all with funny silly intros, to show off their best footage. If you like the DA cars and you're down with rock, tattoos and dicking about, you'll love this DVD. My absolute favourite part is during Michael Edward's small segment. The sequence is filmed at a sweet looking track and shot really well from both in and outside the car. Edward's driving style is super smooth and full on manfoot in and out of the twisty stuff. Awesomeness!

S.O. Approved: Gunni's E30
It might not look like much, but this crazy Icelandic dudes E30 is much more than your run of the mill beater. Much much more!!
Rolling on Strosek rims, mild tune suspension, uprated brakes and a plush 318is interior, it looks like a neglected toy with its rusty scuttle panel and lacquer peel. But delve deeper and you'll find the gold..

A stroked 2.5 ltr M20, using a 2.8 ltr crank, different rods and turbo charged with T4 from ITS in the USA. The turbo sits on a modified cast manifold, cut and welded to get the turbo into a nice position.
The car runs on VEMS engine managment, installed and mapped by Gunni, and is fitted with a dash mounted LCD read out giving all the vital information.
The car should run approx 400bhp when fully mapped at around 1 bar of boost. Sadly it won't be around for long because the engine is already sold and being shipped to Iceland so Gunni can start work on his next project, making BMW plug and play VEMS looms. Hopefully we'll get to go and make some smoke before the engine is shipped.
